During the final months of 2007, activity increased at the mission in
Colombia. The Elder Board assumed the serious and big job of evaluating
the candidates for pastoral ministry in order to approve their
ordination. After evaluating the recommendations of the 2006 Intern
Presbiter, the Elder Board agreed that the candidates had conquered the
difficulties that had delayed their ordination in December 2007.
Therefore, it was decided to ordain them on the 13th of January, 2008 in
a solemn and public service.
On the other hand, the church received new believers who were baptized,
and once again, God gave us reason to rejoice. Bethany Reformed Church
continues to grow, though not as much as in previous years.
The church celebrated Christmas with the children of impoverished
families in the neighborhood. The children were served a good breakfast,
watched a Christmas drama production and received personal gifts. The
community accepted this outreach on behalf of their children. It was a
great opportunity for establishing contacts and do evangelism, and with
Gods' help, we will do follow up in the near future. The church ladies
organized this Christmas outreach for children. All involved had an
excellent time of fellowship.
Activities at the Bethany church continue, for Gods' glory.
Thank you for praying for unity in the church and for the extension of
the Kingdom of God in Colombia. Pray for the new church plant
envisioned for Villavicencio under the responsibility of Pastor Mauricio
Caicedo.

Durante los meses finales del año 2007, se acentuaron las actividades de la misión en Colombia. El Consejo de Ancianos asumió la tarea muy grande y seria de evaluar los candidatos al ministerio pastoral y aprobar su ordenación. Después de evaluar la evolución de las recomendaciones del Presbiterio Interino de 2006, el Consejo de Ancianos acordó que los candidatos habían superado las dificultades que impidieron su ordenación en diciembre de 2007. Por tanto decidió ordenarlos el 13 de enero de 2008 en culto solemne y público.
Por otra parte, la iglesia recibió nuevos creyentes con su bautismo y una vez más Dios nos dió motivos de alegría. La Iglesia Betania de la Reforma sigue creciendo. No como en años anteriores pero si creció.
La iglesia celebró con los niños pobres del vecindario la navidad. Los niños presenciaron una obra de teatro cristiana con relación a la navidad. Tuvieron un muy buen desayuno y regalos personales. La comunidad recibió muy bien este gesto de la iglesia y la iglesia, con sus niños a a cabeza, tuvieron una magnifica oportunidad de contacto y evangelismo que, con la ayuda de Dios, deseamos continuar en el futuro.
Las damas de la iglesia, organizaron la navidad para los niños y tuvieron un magnífico tiempo de compañerismo. Las actividades en la Iglesia Betania de la reforma siguen adelante, para la gloria de Cristo.
Gracias por orar por la unidad de la iglesia y la expansión del Reino de Dios en Colombia. Que oren mucho por la nueva iglesia que se piensa plantar en Villavicencio, bajo la reponsabilidad del Pastor Mauricio caicedo.
